The Problems of Afghanistan are many. This weblog is a description of the situation of Afghanistan by an Afghan and it explains what affects the situation in that country. It is the only weblog by an Afghan which explains the education, immigration, health, culture, religion and economy of Afghanistan in a broad context and criticizes each field sometimes in English and sometimes in Dari language. It also explains the main reasons of religious extremism in that country.

The Evolution of Knowledge and Science

An old man in a village of Afghanistan, with a
pickaxe in his hand, was destroying a small bridge. A foreigner who was a reporter came
with a mike and a camera to make an interview with him. Read the interview
below:
Reporter: Salaam (peace be
upon you), sir.
Man: Walikum Assalaam
(may peace be upon you too) my son, how are you? Are you well?
Reporter: I'm fine, thanks.
Can I ask you a few questions?
Man: Yes, ask.
Reporter: What are you doing
right now?
Man: Well, you're not blind;
you can see that I am destroying a small bridge here.
Reporter: What are your
reasons for doing that? Because I think that small bridge was constructed with
foreign aid money to Afghanistan a few days ago.
Man: Yes, should I tell
you the truth? There is a copper plumb installed under the bridge and nowadays
as you may also know the copper prices, it is too expensive today, I would like
to take the pipe out to sell it as copper so that I can buy a few bread with
that money.
Reporter: Afghanistan's your
own homeland, how can you do such a bad thing to your own homeland? Because I
can see you’re destroying your own home while you are supposed to build it? You
should not destroy it, the people of other countries are also contributing money
to your country to build it and make it prosperous, but you are still destroying
it.
Man: Go away, my son. We
are the poor people, how can we build it? America has destroyed this land, and that
America should build it again.
Reporter: If you cannot
build it, don’t destroy it at least.
Man: My son, let me
tell you the truth, we people are so much desperate and poor that we can’t
build our country and we cannot even prevent the destruction of this country.
Go away, my son. Don’t give me more headaches
and don’t sprinkle salt on my wounds, stand up and go away, you’re wasting my
precious time, if you make me more angry, I will hit your camera with this pickaxe
and will turn it apart into pieces. Get up and go back to your work.
Reporter: Okay, thank you for
the interview.
Man: Go and leave me
alone, son. Go away; you have wasted so much of my time, if not I already
pulled out several pounds of copper....

Khuda Ke Liye (For God’s Sake) /

Khuda Ke Liye (For God’s Sake)
Khuda Ke Liye is the name of an interesting and
worthwhile movie of Bollywood cinema and the name of the film means “For God’s
Sake” in Hindi but in the film it is translated as “In the name of God”. The
language used in this film is English, Hindi, Urdu and partly Pashto. I watched
it once again after many years and I really appreciate the work of the writer
and the director of that film. It is a Romantic Tragedy genre which illustrates
the different life conditions in United States, UK and Waziristan in Pakistan so
that those who see this film will understand the source of the main problem of
today’s world, the misconceptions and misunderstandings and the cultural
clashes between the Western Culture and Islamic extremism arising from Waziristan
in Pakistan where is the main birthplace of Taliban mentality and is
confronting with western cultures since 11 September 2001. This war still
continues in Afghanistan and takes the lives of hundreds and thousands of
innocent civilians including children, men and women. This film shows how
misconceptions between the two cultures as well as misinterpretation of Islam
by some ignorant Mullahs in Waziristan destroys the lives of innocent people
and how it creates war and destroys peace. It has many good lessons to learn
for every individual in Western countries as well as every individual in
Pakistan and Afghanistan. The main message is try to stop prejudice,
discrimination and stupid judgments and stop killing people in the name of
Islam and try to understand cultural differences so that you can contribute to
peace and prevent further wars. This film also includes some nice opinions of
different Islamic scholars about music and marriage which states that Islam is
not against music and it emphasizes the ladies should have their own rights to
chose their husbands. This film shows the main source of the problem and
poverty and illiteracy contributing to the formation of Taliban mentality and
how they are being formed, trained and brainwashed and sent to Afghanistan to
fight. This film is available on Youtube and I recommend the one which is with
English subtitles because with the subtitles you will not be able to understand
the main messages given to you in different languages.
