Similarities between Islam and Christianity شباهت های مسیحیت و اسلام

Every religion is a way or a style of living. People have the freedom and right to choose what they think, what they do, what they feel and which religion they follow. There is also an Afghan proverb which says that:

عیسی به دین خود، موسی به دین خود.
Eisaa ba deen khud, musaa ba deen khud.

Which means “Jesus to his religion and Moses to his.” There are many religions in the world and all of them ask people to do good deeds and to avoid bad ones. I have lived in different societies and I think most of the religions are similar and they all have some basic principles in common.
I think crimes are different and they are in every society which is totally a different issue and there are many criminals who do wrong and bad things in different countries but mostly people and media write them under the name of religions.

It is better to explain here the main similarities between the two biggest religions in the world which are Christianity and Islam.

These two religions have some basic principles in common which can build and bridge cultural and religious cooperation among the followers of the two religions.
I am not personally a religious man and I think there are many people in every society who think beyond religions and what matters for them is humanity and respect for the people from all religious groups.

The two biggest religions of the world have their own respective “Holy Books” which are The Bible written in Hebrew and Koran written in Arabic. These books are the principles and instructions believed by their followers to be the messages received from God. There lies the main idea as a “super invisible power” called “God” or Allah in Arabic in the center of the two Holly books of the two respective religions. There are rewards and punishments for doing good and bad in the two books called as Heaven and the Hell. Both books explain the idea of Eve (Hawa in Arabic) and Adam (Adam also in Arabic) and say that all human being are born from the same mother and father.
Both Holly Books say the story of Adam and Eve as well as many other prophets (saints) Abraham (Ibrahim in Arabic), Jacobs (Yaqoob)... Etc, exactly the same way with slightly difference in names or order of actions.
Almost every Afghan student studies the story of the Jesus the Christ from Koran where a whole chapter of Koran is about his life and that chapter is called by his name “Ees-Ibne-Maryam” which means Jesus the son of Mary. Jesus the Christ is given the same position as “Mohammad” and he is called a prophet of God who could give life to the death. Koran says that Jesus is alive and he is with the God. Jesus did not die on the cross, but he was one of his friends put in the cross. All Muslims believe that Jesus, Moses and many other prophets were sent by God to show the right way to the people of the world. In the textbooks of schools in Afghanistan, you will find more than a hundred times the name of the Jesus the Christ as “Eesaai Masseh” or Massihaa which means “life giver” in Dari. Every time when students say his name, they would not say it alone because they respect him and they would add a phrase after his name “Alaaihe-salam” which means “Peace be upon him”. They also add the same phrase when they say the name of Moses and it will be like Musaa “Alaaihe-salam”.
If all the people of the world bring their children up with the same mutual respect as the students of Afghanistan have for other religions, I think the world would live in peace for ever.
